“It was the turnovers, we fumbled at our own 25-yard-line, they scored,” Pigg said. “We went back and forth all game. Every guy played with great energy and fought hard. They played with great effort. We’re gradually improving.’’

Dallas County hosts Sipsey Valley next Friday.

Southside

Markendrick Williams scored the Panthers’ only touchdown on a 17-yard run. The Panthers (0-4, 0-2) remain winless on the season. Southside had six turnovers in the game.

Trendarius Carter and William Wright each recovered a fumble for the Panthers. Xavier Beal had an interception.

“We made too many mistakes,” Southside coach Daniel Flowers said. “We were not protecting the football tonight. We’ll keep fighting and keep moving it forward. We won’t give up.”
