MainStreet Family Urgent Care is holding its second annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest. The organization is currently seeking businesses and individuals to participate.

Each participant is asked to decorate a pumpkin, take a picture and submit the photo to tcarter@mainstreetfamlycare.com.

Tara Carter, Central Region Sr. Communications Educator for Main Street, said she got the idea after seeing the positive feedback from another dentist office’s pumpkin contest.

“I think we had like 15 participants last year,” she said. “I just said that they could paint them or anything they wanted.”

The submitted picture must have the name of the artist or business sponsoring the pumpkin. All pumpkins will then be posted to the MainStreet Urgent Care Facebook page. The photo with the most likes, shares and comments will win a Fall filled basket.

The voting ends on Oct. 31 and the winner will be announced in November.

Unlike last year, Carter said this year she is opening the contest to more people. Last year, only businesses participated.

“It’s going to be going on to more people this year,” she said. “It would be great if local people in the community would participate as well.”

Carter hopes to land 35 participants this year.
