The Selma Police Department (SPD) is investigating an early morning Saturday shooting.
At 1:10 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Alabama Avenue in the parking lot of Club Entourage.
SPD Chief Spencer Collier said that officers found blood and other evidence indicating a “serious” assault.
“At approximately 1:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to Vaughan Medical Center’s Emergency Room, where officers interviewed the victim,” said Collier.
The victim, 19-year-old Octavious Blevins, told officers that he heard gunshots as he was exiting his vehicle and began walking towards Club Entourage, according to Collier.
Collier said that Blevins was shot in the leg, and was transported by private vehicle to the hospital.
Collier said that the driver of the car dropped Blevins off and left prior to the officers’ arrival.
