Christopher Byrd, 83, of Dallas County, passed away September 20, 2018 at his home. Services are scheduled for Friday, September 28, 2018, 11 a.m. at Selma Avenue Church of Christ with Bro. Joseph Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens with Ashley’s J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Lizzie Byrd; brother, Johnny B. Byrd; sister, Juanita Byrd-Johnson; grandson, Clovis R. Byrd; and nephew, Donald Johnson Sr. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Tommie M. Byrd; sons, Morris Byrd, Ronald Byrd, Dale Byrd Sr., Eric Byrd, Christopher Byrd Jr., and Kenneth Byrd; daughters-in-law, Kaye Byrd, Pamela Byrd, devoted ex daughter in law, and Olivia Byrd; brothers, Wayne Calvin Byrd I, Smythe Byrd, Claude Byrd, Harold Eugene Byrd, and Clinton Byrd; sisters, Dr. Flossie M. Byrd, Margaret Byrd Jones, Almedia Byrd-Locklear, Rubia Mai Byrd, Clarice Byrd, and Mary E. Byrd; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law; 20 nieces; 22 nephews.
