A 53-year-old Selma resident was indicted this week by a Dallas County Grand Jury on seven counts of identity fraud, according to Dallas County Sheriff-elect Mike Granthum.
Granthum said Kim Peake is charged with using another family member’s information- social security number and phone number-to secure a student loan and for credit card fraud.
According to Granthum, the Dallas County Sherriff’s office became aware of Peake’s case about three months ago. After the arrest, the case was taken to the grand jury.
Granthum also said the charges are preliminary as the Sheriff department continues to investigate the case.
Bond was set for Peake at $150,000, but she later made bond.
Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson said Peake will have a probation revocation hearing on her previous theft charges by Dallas County District Court Judge Don McMillian. A date hasn’t been set.
Jackson also said Peake will be arraigned on her new charges in a few months.
