George Richardson McVay age 74, died peacefully on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at DCH Hospital in Tuscaloosa after enjoying his last Crimson Tide football game. He is preceded in death by his parents Howard (HD) and Jean Richardson McVay. George is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy Wilson McVay and his little dog, Sunshine. George spent most of his life as a farmer and land developer. He enjoyed reading, fishing, racquetball, cooking and entertaining his numerous friends. George was not only larger than life but was a “lover of life.” George’s Last Dance will be held at his and Kathy’s home in Suttle, Alabama on October 14, 2018 at 2PM. Friends and family are invited to a casual celebration of his life to share stories and tell tales that George would love. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Selma Public Library, Selma Animal Shelter, Wannabe Rescued, or the Suttle Volunteer Fire Department are suggested.
