The Dallas County Family Resource Center is planning a fundraiser for the holidays.

The Christmas Tree River Walk will provide a free, festive and fun activity for families to enjoy, while also bringing visitors to Riverfront Park.

“We are asking for local businesses to sponsor by paying a sponsorship fee. They are then provided a tree and signage to advertise their business. Local businesses will be in competition for the best decorated tree. There will be several categories of competition, and social media favorites. Trees will be set up and need to be decorated after Thanksgiving and ready for our grand opening the day of Selma’s downtown Christmas parade, Dec. 1,” according to a press release from the resource center. “Trees will remain up throughout the holiday season. Last year this event was amazing – it snowed on the trees. Sponsorships are two tiers. For a regular size tree (7’-8’), the sponsorship is $250. For the larger anchor trees (10’), the sponsorship is $500. For more information, call334-874-7785.
