All In Sports Outreach is holding its fourth annual baseball camp at Bloch Park on Saturday, Oct. 27 for kids ages 7-12.
On-site registration begins at 8 a.m., and the camp goes from 9 a.m. until noon. Online registration is also available at allinsportsoutreach.org. The camp is free of charge, and all players need to do is be dressed in athletic wear, preferably baseball pants, and bring their own gloves. The campers will receive instruction from volunteer coaches from the city youth league and local high school teams. They will go over the fundamentals of hitting, base running and position drills, while taking breaks for devotional periods.
“It’s just another opportunity for us to spread the Gospel,” All in Sports Outreach Selma team member Jamie Tellier said. “It’s great to go out there and learn things in sports because those things help you in life, but why not learn about the one who gave you those talents to play those sports. We want to preach love to them. Something I think our city needs now more than ever.”
All In Sports Outreach scheduled the camp during Auburn and Alabama’s bye week so no one misses their team play while they’re at the park.
