The Dallas County Commission will only meet once in November because of two major holidays.

The Commission’s regular scheduled meeting for Nov. 12 has been cancelled because it falls on Veterans Day.

The Commission’s only meeting of November falls on Nov. 26 at 4 p.m. in the Dallas County Courthouse. That’s the Monday after Thanksgiving Day.

Commissioner Roy Moore said the commission always observes Veteran’s Day, whenever the holiday falls on a meeting day.

“We always respect Veteran’s Day,” Moore said. “We’ll enjoy the break. We’ve been so busy that we could use a break.”

Commissioner Curtis Williams said it’s an honor to observe Veteran’s Day.

“Veterans Day will be spent thanking the Lord for our veterans,” Williams said. “We should take the time to thank them for serving our country and defending our country and providing freedom for the United States.”

The Dallas County Commission always meet on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, barring holiday.
