Halloween events coming to Selma

Halloween events in Selma will provide all trick or treaters a chance to show off their costume on Wednesday with a Halloween Monster March.
The march will begin at 4 p.m. at the Selma-Dallas County Public Library and continue until 4:30 p.m. ending at the Walton Theater.
Those wanting to participate can register in the Vaughan Room at the library and face painting will begin at 3:30 p.m. and last until 4 p.m.
Sparky from the Selma Fire Department will be the Grand Marshall for the parade.
After the march, there will be an award ceremony where prizes will be given for most creative and original.
The grand prize called “Miss” Kitti Windham Award also will be given.
Following awards, there will be a block party on Selma Avenue at the Walton Theater beginning at 4:30 p.m. and lasting until 5:30 p.m. There will be games and vendors.
Also from 5-7 p.m., the Halloween Carnival for kids will take place at the Selma Avenue Sports Bar and Grill located at 1809 Selma Ave. There will be free candy food and drinks. This event is hosted by Selma City Council member Michael Johnson. For more information, call 334-874-1234.
