A Thanksgiving shooting investigation is now a murder case, according to Selma Police Chief Spencer Collier.

Collier said the shooting happened on the 1800 block of Church Street around 8:30 p.m.

“There were two gunshot victims,” said Collier. “One of the shooting victims is deceased. The helicopter was diverted from UAB to DCH Tuscaloosa, however, the victim passed.”

Collier said the incident is still being investigated by special operations and circumstances surrounding the incident are still unknown.

The victims’ identities are also being withheld at this time.
