Jessie James Whatley, 48, of Selma, passed away November 19, 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana. A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, November 24, 2018, 11 a.m. at Serenity (formally Fairlawn) with Ashley’s J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Mamie Coleman Whatley. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Kozetta Watkins; parents, Jimmie J. Whatley and Paula Whatley; sons, Shaquille Bryant and Jeremiah Watkins-Whatley; daughter, Katerra Watkins-Whatley; brothers, Frank (Jill) Whatley, Marvin (Rachel) Whatley, both of Selma, and Eugene (Jentell) Whatley, III of Georgia; sister, Santossha Whatley, Lachundra Whatley, and Veronica Whatley all of Selma; brother-in-law, Willie (Karen) Watkins; host of nieces and nephews.
