Recently the William Rufus King Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution honored four local high school seniors by selecting them as the 2018 Good Citizens from their schools.
The four winners were Zachery Thomas Duke of Meadowview Christian; son of Dale and Glenda Duke; Elizabeth Marie Adams(Ellie) of John T. Morgan Academy; daughter of Bart and Stacey Adams; Alyssa Nikole Thicklin of Southside High School; daughter of Gail and Albert Thicklin and Paige Alicia Pritchett of Selma High School; daughter of Sherry Peoples.
This is not an award for just anyone.
There is a checklist of accomplishments that these students must hold including being academically successful, participating in extracurricular activities and having held offices in some clubs or organization.
These four students have worked hard in their academic career and they should be congratulated for their achievements and hard work at such a young age.
There’s no denying these four are leaders in their student community.
We hope that these four will inspire others to do more with their time in high school.
It is in high school that students can make pivotal decisions that will change the course of their future.
From career choices whether going to college or straight to the workforce, this is an important time in their life.
