The Selma Police Department (SPD)’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) arrested David Lewis on Dec. 20 for two counts of attempted murder.
According to Sgt. Ray Blanks, the arrest stems from an incident that occurred in the 900 block of Kings Bend Road on Oct. 27. During the physical altercation, James Thomas and Charles Cooper were both shot. SPD detectives responded to the scene and checked video surveillance. The officers learned that Lewis was the primary suspect.
Lewis, 29, is currently in the Dallas County Jail under no bond. It’s uncertain when Lewis will have a bond hearing. Dallas County District Court Judge Bob Armstrong, who handle bond hearings, is on vacation.
