Martha K. Hicks

Dr. Martha K. Hicks, of Opp, and formerly of Selma,  passed away January 26, 2019 at the age of 65 after a two year battle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Robert and Frances Earline Hicks.

Surviving are her siblings, Betty Hicks Elliott (Raymond), Kenneth E. Hicks (Kay), Nancy Hicks Cole (Leroy) and Lisa Hicks Sexton (Bill); nieces and nephews, Fran H. Wilson (Lee), Pam H. Nevin (Donnie), Christy K. Thompson (Joey), Matt Elliott (Cody), Chad Elliott, Joshua Cole (Stacy), Katie Machen (Rick) and Alex Baker and 14 great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will the Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Elkdale Baptist Church with Dr. George “Butch” Washburn officiating.  Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing.  Visitation will be prior to the service from noon-2 p.m.

Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
