ArtsRevive Muralist Ashley Mason will lead the community on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. in a painting of the cement barricades at the corner of Church Street and Water Avenue.
All community members are invited to join and food will be provided.
“We are so excited to offer a fun and safe family event this Sunday,” said ArtsRevive Program Manager, Devon Gray. “Thank you to the BlackBelt Community Foundation, Selma center for Nonviolence and Selma’s City Council for partnering with us to make this event a success.”
Gray added the barricade mural is one of ArtsRevive’s many projects planned for this spring and summer for Selma’s Downtown Arts District. Another mural is being installed on the exterior of Gallery 905, which is also located at the intersection of Church Street and Water Avenue.
Cammack Garden, a pocket park that will completely transform a former parking lot in the Arts District, is in the final fundraising stages.
