On the first weekend in March, the streets of Selma will fill up as people from all over the world will begin to celebrate what makes Selma so historically known.

The bridge crossing that occurred during the Civil Rights Movement here in Selma was a pivotal moment for the entire movement.

This coming Jubilee will keep the celebration of civil rights and equality alive as many still continue the fight where others have left off.

This is a celebration of building on what has been done before us and not to dwell on the past, but to learn from it.

There are many events scheduled to help celebrate this year.

It is important for those of us here to participate in this event and be part of the event that has brought everyone from presidential candidates to international travelers to our city.
