Morgan Academy’s Gunnar Henderson shines at AISA All-Star basketball game

Morgan Academy’s two-sport athlete Gunnar Henderson played his final high school basketball last week.
Henderson scored 12 points and earned West MVP honors as the West beat the East 83-78 at the AISA All-Star Basketball game played on Feb. 22 at the Cramton Bowl Multiplex in Montgomery. Edgewood Academy’s J.C. Bush was the East MVP.
Dione Allen and Hayden Bruner also represented Morgan Academy on the West All-Star roster.
Abigail Lane of Morgan Academy played in the girls’ All-Star game.
Morgan Academy cheerleaders participating in the game are Peyton Ellen Granthum, Mary Carolyn Haugen and Mary Margaret Beers.
Baseball is now Henderson’s focus. The Senators are considered a leading contender to win a state championship.
Henderson is considered the state’s top prep baseball prospect and signed with Auburn University on Nov. 14, 2018.
Perfect Game lists Henderson as the nation’s No.42 overall player and the 47th rated MLB Draft Prospect.
The Senators began their baseball season at the Clarke Tournament over the weekend.
The Senators have four home games this week.
