Selma High splits doubleheader, Morgan Academy still unbeaten

Amarian Molette struck out 10 batters and had two hits as Selma High beat Goshen 8-4 on Friday night at Bloch Park.
The Saints dropped the second game in the doubleheader 18-7. It was the Saints’ first loss after four games this season.
Christian Strong led the Saints with three hits in game one.
Molette, a member of The Selma Times-Journal’s All-Dallas County football team, needed only 120 pitches to get the victory.
“It feels great to be winning early because no one knew what kind of team we’d have,” Molette said. “I feel that we have a good team. We’ll have a good year if everybody keeps their head on straight.”
In game two, the Saints allowed 11 runs after the fifth inning. Molette had a two-run triple and Nick Nettles added a two-run double for the Saints.
Morgan Academy 7, Clark Prep 3: Gunnar Henderson had two hits, including two-run homer for the Senators (4-0) on Friday in the Morgan Academy Pepsi Baseball Tournament. Henderson finished with three RBI. Brayton Brown also hit a two-run homer and solo homer, finishing with three RBI. Milam Turner added two hits.
The Senators will play Saturday at 4 p.m. and with a win, they will play in the championship game at 6 p.m. Saturday.
