Teenage suspect charged with murder

A Keith High School student has been charged with murder.
Quashawn Stallworth, 17, was arrested Thursday by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, was charged with the murder of Shalexis Ellis, 23.
According to DSCO Sgt. John Treherne, Ellis was Stallworth’s girlfriend and the two were living with Stallworth and his mother on County Road 895 in Orrville. They are also parents of a two-month-old child.
Treherne said evidence showed that Stallworth and Ellis were in the same room. He was in possession of a 9-mm handgun, fired a round and shot Ellis in the head, according to the DCSO.
Treherne said the investigation is still ongoing and Stallworth will be charged as an adult. Stallworth’s bond is set at $1 million. Treherne said Stallworth could have a potential bond hearing on Monday at the Dallas County Courthouse.
