Work to be done – Amphitheater needs to be completed

It has been over three years and $2.2 million spent since the local amphitheater project began, and there are still needs to be met.
There are no restrooms and no concessions, no seating and no shade, no sound system and no dressing rooms, no media room and no meeting spaces.
What is worse is that there are no firm plans in place to complete this project all the while some people claim this is a valuable part of our community.
It is a usable venue that is true, but it is only fully effective if it fully completed.
The potential this amphitheater has is extraordinary.
It was packed during the annual Bridge Crossing Jubilee last weekend with gospel groups, hip-hop artists and other bands, but what about the rest of the year?
This part of Selma is too important to attracting income and tourists to our city to be ignored.
If we are to be a fully thriving city, we must complete the entertainment projects we have started to their full planned completion and not to just functional completion.
The fully completed project would be worth the investment in bringing events to our city and the income and tourist that would come with them.
