A bond hearing was held Monday for a Keith High School student charged with murder.
Quashawn Stallworth, 17, was arrested on March 7 by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and charged with the murder of Shalexis Ellis, 23.
Dallas County District Court Judge Bob Armstrong kept the bond at $1 million, which had been set on March 7.
According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, Armstrong also set Stallworth’s preliminary hearing for April 9. Stallworth has hired Montgomery’s Susan James as his attorney.
DSCO Sgt. John Treherne said Ellis was Stallworth’s girlfriend and the two were living with Stallworth and his mother on County Road 895 in Orrville. They are also parents of a two-month-old child.
Treherne said evidence showed that Stallworth and Ellis were in the same room. He was in possession of a 9-mm handgun, fired a round and shot Ellis in the head, according to the DCSO report.
