One of the biggest marketable aspects of Selma and Dallas County is the rich history that the area has.

Coming in April, Old Cahawba Archaeological Site will play host to a Civil War Walking tour and a memorial service for the unknown soldier of the Civil War will follow after the tour.

Having Old Cahawba in our county attracts a special group of people: those that love history and want to walk in the footsteps of the actual historic sites.

This event and this site should be supported by all in our county. It brings in a unique group of people with their love of history, and that means more income and revenue for our county.

The event is Saturday, April 6 from 10-11 a.m. for the Civil War Walking Tour and the memorial service to follow right after.
