Selma resident waives case to Dallas County Grand Jury

Sylvester Lewis Stevenson Jr. waived his preliminary hearing case to the Dallas County Grand Jury on Wednesday at the Dallas County Courthouse.
Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson said the case will be presented to a Dallas County Grand Jury in the next few months. Stevenson still being held in the Dallas County Jail on $15,000 bond.
Stevenson, 37, was charged with second-degree theft at Tally-Ho restaurant on Feb. 19 and was arraigned by Dallas County District Court Judge Bob Armstrong. Stevenson was arrested on Feb. 18 by the Selma Police Department (SPD).
Jackson said Armstrong recused himself from the case because his nephew owns Tally-Ho.
Stevenson has a circuit court date on May 9 for receiving stolen property charges in the courtroom of Dallas County Circuit Court Judge Collins A. Pettaway Jr.
