A bond hearing was held Monday for a Selma resident on two charges.
Lamorious Prince, AKA “Pooh,” was arraigned by Dallas County District Court Judge Bob Armstrong in the Dallas County Courthouse for charges of first-degree assault and second-degree burglary.
According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, Armstrong set Prince’s bond at $1 million. Prince’s preliminary hearing date is set for May 7.
The crime took place on June 21, 2018 at the block of 414 Martin Luther King Street Apartment 9C. Prince and the co-defendant with Jarron Stallworth, AKA “Pops,” came through Erica Rogers’ front door uninvited. Stallworth assaulted her in the face with a handgun. Prince recorded the assault and laughed about it.
Rogers was treated for a serious left eye injury at Vaughn Regional Medical Center’s Emergency room.
“Prince is another one of Selma’s most wanted gunslingers,” Jackson said. “We are glad Judge Armstrong gave him a high bond.”
SPD Chief Spencer Collier said Prince has been involved in the gun violence at GWC since he took office two years ago. Collier also praised the District Attorney’s office for handling the situation.
“Thanks to the DA’s office support in this case, Prince has been indicted and we are committed to sending him to prison for a long time,” Collier said. “Over the last six to eight weeks, we have identified and charged many of the absolutely most violent individuals that have been terrorizing that community.”
