On Thursday, April 25, the State of Alabama Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse will host an Opioid Summit at the Alabama Public Library in Montgomery.

Leaders from all over the Black Belt including our very own Selma leaders such as Jerria Martin will be speaking at the event.

The opioid crisis has taken over the entire country, and it is an issue that will not go away unless we come together to work on the prevention of this epidemic.

This will be an opportunity for those in attendance to learn about receiving funding and other resources that are available for our area in fighting back.

Those that are able to come should attend and join in the fight against the opioid epidemic.
