The TNA Heat sixth-grade basketball team won the Hoops Fest Tournament last weekend in Huntsville.

TNA Heat went 5-0 in the tournament that featured teams from Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee. TNA Heat beat Alabama Lifestyle 46-34 in the tournament finals.

“Coach Titus Lanier Sr. and I are proud of our young men for representing our area,” TNA coach Marcus Hannah said. “We had great production from every athlete.”

Hannah also pointed out several individual performances in the tournament.

“Joshua Davis hit some critical three-pointers in the semifinals and finals,” Hannah said. “Tristan Walls got some major offensive rebounds. Erick Smith protected the rim, which he did not allow many shots to go in. I give credit to team captain Titus Lanier Jr. for controlling the pace of the game. I give credit to Derick Smith and Myles Hannah for their tenacious defense and outstanding offense, which led to many steals and they converted them into buckets.”

Other team members are Omari Smith, Le’Marcus Milhouse, Jordan Lamar, Jarius Barnes, Ja’Nygol Rivers, Jessie Wilder and Myles Nix.

TNA Heat has won two of the three tournaments they’ve played in, with a second-place finish.
TNA Heat will be playing in a tournament Saturday at the Montgomery Sportsplex. Hannah invites the community to drive over and watch the team.
