Thomas Leo Hinson, born June 1, 1937 left his earthly body on Tuesday, April 30,, 2019 after a long illness to be with his Heavenly Father. He served in the Army as a Paratrooper for two years with the 82nd Airborne. He was a member of Sister Springs Baptist Church in Tyler. Tony worked as a Textile Engineer with Rockwell International Draper Division overseas and in the U.S. for years then he went to work at Selma Oil Mill until his retirement. He served as Fire Chief for the Tyler Volunteer Fire Department for 11 years also in Tyler. He is survived by his wife, Alice S. Hinson; three daughters, Telida A Lovell (Tommy), Tammy H Robinson (Mark), Renee Hanna (Jeffery); 1son Jack Hinson; two stepsons, Mark Turner (Vickie), Brad Turner (Chessy); 2 brothers, Samuel Hinson, Edward Hinson (Cathy); 13 grandchildren, Zackary, Jason, Adam, Todd, Matthew, Bethany, Emma, Joshua, Stephen, Whitney, Patrick, Jake; four Great Grandchildren and two more on the way and a multitude of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert & May Hinson; one Brother, Reid Hinson; one sister, Doris Walsh; Sister in law, Betty Hinson all of South Carolina; son, Jimmy Hinson, stepson, David Turner and Granddaughter Stephanie Turner. His service will be held on May 18 at 11 a.m. at Sister Springs Baptist Church in Tyler. His Grandson, Todd Robinson will officiate the service.
