The Selma-Dallas County Chamber of Commerce will host their 9th annual Community Shred Day at the Center for Commerce on Saturday morning.
Community Shred Day offers the people of Selma and Dallas County a free opportunity to bring all of their outdated, sensitive documents to be safely disposed of.
Each household may bring up to four boxes or large trash bags filled with outdated documents including ATM receipts, credit card statements, tax returns and anything else that shows personal financial information.
Chamber Director Sheryl Smedley said that the annual event has continued to grow each year and become a much-anticipated event in the community.
“The following Monday, we have people calling and wanting to know when the next Shred Day is,” said Smedley. “This is a great service that we’re pound to offer and will continue to offer.”
Smedley also mentioned that this year’s Community Shred Day wouldn’t be possible without ASE Credit Union, who will sponsor the event.
Shred day will be held at the Center for Commerce, located at 912 Selma Avenue, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods for Selma Food Bank, who will be on site accepting donations.
