A high school graduation party in Selma fell into chaos Friday night, as shots rang out in the 3200 block of County Road 19.

According to Selma Police Department (SPD) Chief Spencer Collier, the incident occurred in the county but within police jurisdiction, so SPD officers responded.

Collier said that a juvenile female was shot in the leg and Madison Jones, 19, was struck in the hip.

Both were transported to a nearby healthcare facility and their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

According to Collier, the suspect is unknown at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
