With the recent announcement by the International Center for Leadership in Education (ICLE), one of the nation’s foremost authorities in education has recognized Selma City School system for their achievements in the 2018-2019 school year.
It wasn’t too long ago that the school system was under Alabama State Department intervention.
The changes that have happened since then have turned the system in the right direction.
It is no secret that Selma City School Superintendent Dr. Avis Williams has been intentional with her plans to move the school system back into good standings.
From a strategic five year plan, suggesting the consolidation of schools and holding educators and administrators to a higher standard, Williams and other leaders have worked tirelessly.
This recognition from ICLE only solidifies that the system is on the right track.
