When the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) would be awarding $495 million in airport infrastructure grants, it was exciting to hear that Craig Field would be receiving $550,000 to be used to rehabilitate the runway.
Craig Field Airport’s new Executive Director Jim Corrigan has a lot of plans for revitalizing the airfield and one important component of being able to achieve his plans is through grants.
When he was announced as the executive director in October of 2018, he said grants were an important part of moving the area forward with the plans he had.
“We will work to see about grants for funding and building improvement and removal. I believe in communication both ways and planning ahead. It stabilizes our lives and keeps us all on the same sheet of music,” he said in an October interview.
Corrigan is working hard to revitalize an important part of our community and these grants from USDOT and FAA are just the beginning to achieving that goal.
