Saying goodbye – Long time Selma business to close doors

After over 50 years, Holley True Value will close its doors for the final time on Aug. 5.
There are not many businesses left in Selma that have the generational ownership like Holley True Value and we commend this family for spending the past three generations serving our community.
We wish Alden Holley, the third-generation owner of the store, the best of luck as he has taken a sales position with Knox Kershaw, Inc., a company that manufactures railway maintenance equipment in Montgomery.
Beginning with Alden’s grandfather, Elam, the family spent years serving the Selma and Dallas County area.
“I feel like I was born and raised in this store,” said Alden said. “When I was a kid we’d get picked up from school and come straight here. We’d wake up early on Saturday mornings and be here all day.”
Everyone should take full advantage of the limited time that we have left with the business as everything has become marked down.
Thank you Holley True Value for all that you have provided for our community.
