Wannabe Rescued’s next fundraiser is fast approaching.

The organization dedicated to saving the lives of the Selma-Dallas County area’s homeless dogs and puppies will host its annual yard sale on Saturday morning.

Wannabe Rescued, a non-profit organization, relies on fundraisers like the yard sale to carry out its mission of saving homeless animals.

According to Lorraine Alexander, one of the organizations founding volunteers, Wannabe Rescued has thrown some sort of yard sale each year since its founding in 2012.

The annual yard sale is usually very successful for Wannabe Rescued with several people both donating items to be sold and several more attending and purchasing things from the yard sale.

According to Alexander, the organization has been collecting items for the past two weeks, amassing a collection of nearly everything including furniture, home décor, electronics, children’s toys and both men and women’s clothing.

“There’s truly something for everyone,” said Alexander. “Come buy a gift for yourself or a loved one and save a puppy’s life in the process.”

Alexander says that proceeds collected from the yard sale will be used to fund Wannabe Rescued day-to-day tasks like paying boarding fees at the vet and buying food and purchasing vaccinations.

Wannabe Rescued’s Annual Yard Sale will take place at Westwood Baptist Church, located at 4085 Hwy. 80 West across from the former Taylorville Family Fun Entertainment Center, beginning at 7 a.m.
