Selma High defeats Dallas County for City-County Volleyball championship

Selma High defeated Dallas County in the fourth annual Selma City-County Volleyball Tournament last weekend at Dallas County High School’.
The Lady Saints (4-5) won 18-25, 25-16 and 15-11 in the tournament finals.
Triniti Jones, Krysten Bethel, Cerya Blake, Emily Smith, Aeraonna Manuel, Lynderakia Harris, Alazia Harris, Niesha Lasley and Amaya Pritchett are the Lady Selma players.
“I’m proud that we won,” Lady Saints coach and Athletic Director Katasha Turner said. “It’s a motivational boost for our season and building a culture for our program.”
The Lady Hornets beat Selma High in the tournament’s opener, 23-25, 25-18 and 15-10 before the Lady Saints prevailed during the finals.
Karly Bennett, Kristalyn Briggins-, Keyonce’ Furlow Sherilyn Briggins, La Tia Horton, Aaliyah James, Kelinthia Mitchell, Kim’Misha Mcghee, Sydney Underwood, Caitlyn Wilson, SaNiya Bryd, Kaia Eaton, Hayden Primm, Courtney Farmer, Baily Ross, Kyleigh Golson, Ashlee Stubbs, Miracle McCary, Keyonna Mcghee and Jamyia Peeples are the Lady Hornets players coached by Stacey Buchanan.
“I’m super proud of my lady hornets for placing second,” Buchanan said. “Everyone of the girls played great. We are improving everyday.”
