Linden hit back even harder, with a complete pass to Junior Wide Receiver Savion McIntosh, 13, and a successful 2-point conversion.

The Patriots led 14-6 with 2:08 remaining in the first quarter.

The Patriots didn’t have any time to relax though.

With 1:50 remaining in the first quarter, Stubbs ran nearly the length of the field, bringing the score to 14-12, with the Saints only two points behind.

A recovered fumble from Saints Senior Linebacker Deviun Cunningham, put the Saints in the lead, 18-14, with 5:45 remaining in the second quarter.

The Patriots didn’t allow the Saints to savor their lead for long, a completed pass had the Patriots in the lead at halftime, 20-18.

The Saint took no prisoners on defense the second half of the football game, completely shutting out the Patriots on offense the reminder of the game.

While stopping the Patriots with a strong defense, Saints offense racked up 28 points in the second half thanks to another pass from Hope to Stubbs, both a completed pass and successful run from Dion Nelson,7, and a final run plus a 2-point conversion with 10 minutes remaining in the football game.

The Selma Saint’s Head Coach, Will Gandy, said that the Saints started out slow but was proud of their win at the end of the night.

“We didn’t come out and play our A-game in the first half, but the second half we got it under control and got some things moving on offense,” said Gandy.

Gandy commended the Saints defense for their shutout in the second half.

“We’re playing really tough on defense and that’s what we’re really going to need down the road,” he said.
