Annual trip through Selma raises awareness

As 40 bicyclists continued from Selma on the next part of their 525-mile journey to Rosemary Beach, Florida, it is hard to not be in awe of the accomplishment these cyclists achieve each year.
The 9th Annual WINGS Ride 2 Rosemary is a charitable cycling event that promotes cancer awareness, encourages a healthy lifestyle and raises funds for the WINGS Supportive Care Division within the University of Tennessee West Institute.
The journey began in Memphis and just like years before the cyclists stopped in the Queen City for a night. Along the way, the riders make stops in Tupelo, Mississippi, Tuscaloosa, Selma and Andalusia before being greeted by their supporters at Rosemary Beach.
We are glad the cyclists made Selma part of their journey as we all strive to recognize October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
