Groups unite to host annual trick-or-treat event

Blackbelt Benefit Group (BBG), the Selma City Council, Selma Fire Department (SFD), Selma Police Department, Selma – Dallas County Public Library and downtown businesses all came together to continue Selma’s tradition of the Monster March on Thursday afternoon.
Selma – Dallas County Public Library Director Becky Nichols estimates that over 200 people took part in this years event.
Nichols was proud to see the tradition continue over 25 years after its inception.
“It was another wonderful event in sensational Selma,” she said.
BBG Executive Director Devon Gray was proud of the families for enduring the chilly temperatures to participate in the event.
“It was really fun to see all of these families dressed up and having a good time,” she said.
Gray thanked all of the downtown businesses for their participation in the event.
“It’s a great thing that they’re so happy to participate,” she said.
