Carter Drug Company and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) are teaming up for a pill drop off Saturday morning.
Carter Drugs owner Tim Williamson and Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum spoke Friday about the drop-off, which will take place Saturday between 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in front of the drug store.
Williamson said the drug store has been taking pills for several years, but just started taking back controlled substance since 2018.
“This is a way for us to dispense them,” Williamson said. “We’ve been taking back opioids and narcotics for a year.”
Granthum said the pill drop-off process is simple.
“There will be no questions asked, people can just come by and drop off their pills,” Granthum said. “They don’t need to have a prescription at Carter Drugs.”
