The murder case of the late Kenbranesha Rayford will be coming to an end in the near future.
Zechariah Brown, the man who allegedly murdered Rayford on May 30, 2018, was certified as an adult to stand trial for murder by Dallas County Circuit Court Judge Collins A. Pettaway. Brown was 16 years old at the time of the fatal shooting.
A transfer hearing was held Wednesday in the Dallas County Courthouse.
Brown is currently in the Dallas County Jail under no bond and charged with murder, second-degree assault and shooting into an occupied building.
“We will present the case to a Dallas County Grand Jury,” Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson said.
Rayford, 20 years old at the time of her death, was driving her grey Honda after taking her test for the military. She was eventually airlifted to UAB Hospital and died a few days later.
