Dallas County District Court Judge Bob Armstrong appointed Cecil Fields as Carter’s attorney during an initial court appearance Wednesday.

Armstrong also set both a bond hearing and preliminary hearing for Carter on Dec. 3 at 1:30 p.m.  Armstrong said the extra time will allow Fields to review the case with Carter’s family. Jackson said the bond will remain at $250,000.
