Selma man found dead in Escambia County prison

A Selma man was found dead at the William C. Holman Correctional Facility in Escambia County last week.
According to the Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC), Antonio Bell was pronounced dead on Thursday, Jan. 9 at the prison based in Atmore.
“Bell’s cause of death is pending a full autopsy. ADOC’s Investigations and Intelligence Division actively is investigating the case and more information will be available upon the conclusion of the investigation into Bell’s death,” the ADOC said in a statement.
Bell was serving a 20-year sentence for Escape I, according to the ADOC statement.
