The Regional Drug Task Force for the state of Alabama has named Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson Chairperson of the local Regional Control Board.
The chairperson is the chief officer of the organization and presides at all meetings of the Regional Control Board. The chairperson also serves on the State Executive Board that meets once a year.
Jackson was chosen at the winter Regional Control Board meeting.
“I’m proud that this group believes in my leadership skills,” Jackson said. “I think it speaks well of Selma and Dallas County.”
The Regional Drug Task Force now consists of the Alabama Law Enforcement Association, the 4th Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office and its agents, the 24th Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office and its agents and the Greensboro Police Department.
The Regional Drug Task Force has successfully combated gang activity in Bibb, Dallas, Hale, Perry and Wilcox Counties, known as the Fourth Judicial District. Jackson is also District Attorney in the Fourth Judicial District.
