Dallas County basketball teams roll into postseason

All five Dallas County public school boys teams reached the sub-Regional basketball tournament.
The Sub-regional round gets underway Tuesday at 7 p.m. with three of the teams are at home.
In Class 6A, Selma High hosts Paul W. Bryant High School.
In Class 3A, Hale County visits Southside at 6 p.m. The Panthers beat Prattville Christian Academy 64-46 for th Area 6, 3A championship as Tae Spears scored 30 points. Christopher Thomas added 15 points.
In Class 1A, Keith hosts Millry. The Bears beat Linden 72-54 for the Area title on Saturday.
Ellwood Christian Academy, the Area 5, 1A runner-up, travels to Francis Marion in a Sub-Regional contest. The Rams are coached by former Selma High coach Woodie Jackson.
Dallas County travels to Sipsey Valley in a 4A Sub-regional game. The Hornets narrowly lost to Sumter Central 78-73 in the Area 5, 4A Tournament finals.
Selma coach Daron Rembert expects a tough contest from the school based in Tuscaloosa.
“Without question, this is the most competitive time of the season,” Rembert said. “Playing at home in front of our supportive fans means a great deal to us. We are looking forward to playing our competitive best on our home floor.”
