Wallace Community College-Selma honored its sophomore basketball players during its homecoming celebration on Monday night.
Marlon Sharp, Michael Kirkland, Corey Thomas, Synia Chatman and Amber Richardson played their final home game.
WCCS also celebrated winning the Alabama Community College Conference’s Southern Division championship, defeating Enterprise State Community College 110-86.
The Lady Patriots dropped a heartbreaking 68-64 loss to ESCC. WCCS blew an 11-point lead in the final five minutes and allowed a game-winning three-pointer with six seconds remaining. WCCS had a chance to win the game, but missed a jump shot with three seconds left in regulation.
The homecoming court was announced at halftime of the women’s contest..
