Kervin and Michelle Babineaux have two Miss Selma Jubilee Pageant winners in their Lafayette, Louisiana home.
Kamryn Jade Babineaux was crowned 2020 Miss Selma Jubilee on Feb. 27 at Wallace Community College. She was the Talent Winner at the 2018 Selma Jubilee Pageant.
Babineaux joins her older sister, Kailon Babineaux, who was named 2018 Miss Selma Jubilee.
“I’m so excited to be crowned Miss Selma Jubilee, it was a privilege to be present for an amazing event,” Babineaux said.
Babineaux, 16, is honored to succeed her sister, the 2020 Miss Black Louisiana.
“I am so proud to be following my sister Kailon Babineaux’s footprint in the pageant world because she is such a great inspiration,” Babineaux said.
For the third straight year, Miss Selma Jubilee resides in Lafayette. Eugenia Williams was named Miss Selma Jubilee last year.
Babineaux is a sophomore student at David Thibodaux STEM Academy and has a 4.0 grade point average. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Interact Club and Beta Club, and a member of the DTSMA dance team.
