MainStreet Family Care announced all 16 of its clinics across the state will now offer COVID-19 testing on Friday morning, including the Selma clinic located at 1417 AL-14 between the former Bojangles and the Chistian Services for Children Building, in front of Walmart.
According to a statement issued by MainStreet Family Care, the clinics have a limited supply of testing materials so only patients with upper respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath and or runny nose will be tested.
MainStreet Family Care urges patients experiencing the aforementioned symptoms to let front desk personnel know immediately, so they can receive a surgical mask to prevent any potential spread of COVID-19.
Mainstreet Family Care staff will also be wearing increased protective equipment in order to avoid potential spread of the virus.
To further minimize risk of exposure, only those seeking treatment and their accompanying minors will be allowed in the back of the clinic – everyone else will be regulated to the waiting room, however MainStreet Family Care strongly recommends anyone not seeking treatment remain outside of the clinic completely.
Other increased safety measures the clinic is taking includes a ramped up sanitation routine of examination rooms and the removal of all toys and magazines from the waiting room.
MainStreet Family Care is open seven days per week, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on weekends.
