Ruth Ann Kaylor, age 82, joined her mother and son Randy Kaylor, along with other family members, in that heavenly home with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She passed away peacefully on Mothers Day, May 10, in the home of her daughter, Lynn Stewart, in Oxford.

Ruth’s greatest passions were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She served others tirelessly with her endless energy and enthusiasm.  She taught her family to always see the positive and work hard.  Her passion for life was contagious.  Ruth was an avid cook, gardener, antique collector and Alabama football fan. She will be remembered for her great capacity to love.

Ruth worked for the Valley Grande Volunteer Fire Department, Vocational Rehabilitation in Selma, sold Newton Advertisements and retired from the Alabama Forestry Department. She loved seeing trees planted. After retirement, Ruth worked at Angels Antique in Opelika with her sweetheart, Leo Brewer. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Lynn Stewart: son-in-law Joe Stewart; daughter-in-law Belinda Kaylor; and Leo Brewer; sisters, Yvonne Stanley and Mary Hensley; brothers, Roy Mullins and Emerson Mullins; six grandchildren, Lauren (Parkhurst) Hobbs & spouse Challis, Jayson Parkhurst & spouse Jessica, Shelby Parkhurst, Lisa (Kaylor) Acosta and spouse Erik, Mary Ann (Kaylor) Griffiths and spouse Christopher; Cindy (Kaylor) Smith & spouse Byron; five great-grandchildren, Connor and Dillon Acosta, Kate and Cache Hobbs, and Addy Jo Smith. She is preceded in death by her mother, Rettie Stanley Mullins; nine dear siblings; and her loving son, Randy Kaylor.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 2 p.m. from the Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clarke Skelton officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you plant a tree in Ruth’s memory. Final care and arrangements have been entrusted to Selma Funeral Home.
