Selma High, Morgan Academy split top girls awards

Morgan Academy and Selma High School split The Selma Times-Journal girls’ individual honors.
The Lady Senators captured two of the individual player of the year honors in Dallas County.
Maggie Colley was named The Selma Times-Journal volleyball player of the year two straight seasons. Leanna Johnson was named Selma Times-Journal softball player of the year.
Selma High’s Rodericka Parker was named The Selma Times-Journal basketball player of the year two straight seasons.
Selma High had the edge in top Dallas County coaching honors, taking two of the three.
Wil Morgan was named The Selma Times-Journal girls basketball coach of the year. Adrian Mclendon was named The Selma Times-Journal softball coach of the year for turning around the Lady Saints’ softball program.
Former Morgan Academy coach Jessica Lovelady was named The Selma Times-Journal volleyball coach of the year. Her father, former Meadowview Christian School coach Tim Burton, was named The Selma Times-Journal coach of the year in 2018.
