Meadowview Christian School will have a new volleyball coach this season.
Last year’s volleyball coach, Katey McIntyre Smith, accepted a second-grade teaching job at JE Terry Elementary School in Plantersville. JE Terry Elementary School is part of the Dallas County School System.
Smith played at MCS and said it was an honor to coach her younger sister, Erin McIntyre, a member of The Selma Times-Journal All-Dallas County volleyball and basketball team.
“Leaving Meadowview was a difficult decision. The school has been like home to me, and its members are like my family,” Smith said. “I cannot say enough positive things about MCS. I will greatly miss working there. I treasured the conversations I had with my coworkers.”
MCS headmaster, head football and girls basketball coach Bob Taylor will be the Lady Trojans’ volleyball coach this season.
Smith said she’s looking forward to the next chapter in her life.’’
“The teachers and staff have already made me feel welcome and loved,” Smith said. “I’m really excited about what the future holds for me there.”
Taylor has experience coaching volleyball, having won a state championship in 2001 at Sumter Academy.
